SANDY COVE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
laura & john
The last of three siblings to get hitched, Laura & John chose Bideford Parish church for their ceremony before heading off to Sandy Cove for their wedding breakfast and reception. If you’ve had a good look round my site you may recognise Laura. She is part of a group of friends who I’ve got to know and shoot their weddings. I have shot Laura’s sister Hannah’s wedding at Beaconside, her brother Tom’s at Chiddlecombe Farm, her friend Zoe’s at Pashoe House ( hence the photo below, my four brides ) and via this group April’s at Launcells Barton too.
Its often the case that I get a chain of bookings from a group, a few years ago it was Barnstaple Rugby club that was the link and before that local GP’s.
One of the best things about a situation like this is that I already knew most of the core members of the wedding party and they knew me. Laura’s parents I have met three times and on numerous other occaisions via another friend. I knew half the bridesmaids, I’ve met them before and shot a couple of their weddings. And the guests, the families, the friends, most of them know me, they’ve seen me at work, seen the photos. They all just relax and enjoy the day not worrying about the photographer. I recommended my pal Chris for their video, he’s a top guy and always ready to give some ideas, and we’re both bald with tattoos, like twins, lol.
“Best of the best! Cannot recommend Mike enough, he is so friendly and easy going so you instantly feel at ease. His photos & style are phenomenal, our wedding photos could not have been better! We are so pleased with them.”

The Big Day arrives
Another day with this bunch? Yes please ! Being almost one of the family I they were all super relaxed with me there. Same house that Hannah got ready in, same church for the ceremony, same family, on one side, and a similar selection of bridesmaids. I wont go on about the wonderful ceremony, the couples daughter running around the church and all the usual wedding shenanigans, all weddings are brilliant and emotional. These guys had been to so many weddings in recent years they just wanted to have fun and it not be boring or too formal. They certainly did that. Singing waiters, wrestling, and instead of cutting the cake they both just took a massive bite out of the top.
Invariably there is always someone in this group on the floor near the end of the night, usually Zoe & Yaz, this time Laura’s mum got involved too. In short, a great day with friends, the only downside is their group are now all married! Looking forward to the next time I can visit this brilliant venue and be a Sandy Cove Wedding Photographer.
