DEERS LEAP WEDDING
Sam & Sam
Photographing Sam & Sam’s Deers Leap Wedding was a fantastic way to spend a September afternoon. They chose this amazing venue to host their ceremony and reception. Heather and the rest of the staff did them proud. The last time I was at Deers Leap it was to shoot the wedding of the owners themselves, Heather & James.
The three of us had met just once before for a chat about their day and both has expressed concerns about being in front of the camera. Sam, Mrs, mentioned that she unwittingly sometimes pulled funny faces and I sure captured a few of those on the day. Sam, Mr, was pretty quiet but spent the day with a big grin on his face. A day filled with laughter followed the ceremony with some great speeches, a huge dress, more funny faces, beautiful evening light and a choreographed first dance.
Wedding Moments and Memories
My remit as usual, cos its my job, was to capture their story. To seek out those never to be repeated wedding moments. Shoot some beautiful Bride & Groom portraits. Immortalize memories.
A couple of things stick in my mind from their day. Sam, Mrs, getting her words wrong during the vows, followed by some giggling. Later, she gently took her new Father in Laws face in her hands and kissed him on the cheek. For me being able to capture this particular moment makes me feel happy and sad at the same time. Happy that I was there to be able to witness and capture that moment for Sam & Sam and sad because I know he’s now gone. Sadly Graham passed away only a few short weeks after the wedding.
Someone once said the purpose of photography is to witness, to prove, to relate, to celebrate, to remember. My thoughts exactly.
If you are getting married or thinking about choosing Deers Leap as your wedding venue and you need a tog, give me a shout, Mike.
